    II — The Table

    Nobody here says no.

Most tables have a list of things you are allowed to do. This one has a list of things that have happened, and it keeps getting longer, and some of it is difficult to explain to strangers.

We play fifth edition with mechanics we built ourselves — systems for the parts the rules go quiet about. Crafting something that shouldn't exist. Owing a debt to something that remembers. Downtime that actually costs you the time.

Every arc has an ending, published before it starts. You are never a hundred hours behind. You can start anywhere and be caught up by the end of a drive home.

    01

    Anything is on the table

Ask for the stupid thing. It gets a real ruling, a real roll, and real consequences. That is more interesting than a rulebook that says no.

    02

    The mechanics are ours

Built, broken, rebuilt at this table. Published free, in full, so you can run them at yours before you have any reason to like us.

    03

    The world keeps score

Nothing gets forgotten. What you tried in the first session is still on the books in the last one, and it will come and find you.

    III — The Rules

Systems for the parts that go quiet.

Three of ours. They ship free, in full, before the first episode — because a mechanic you can read is worth more than a mechanic we tell you about.

    Crafting

    Make it anyway

You may attempt to build a thing that does not exist. The materials are the easy part. The hard part is that the thing now exists, and it did not before, and something noticed.

Cost: one complication, chosen by the world.

    Debt

    The ledger

Every favour asked of something older than you is written down. Interest is not charged in coin. It is charged at the worst available moment, which the world selects with obvious care.

    Cost: deferred. Always deferred.

    Downtime

    Time actually passes

Weeks between arcs are spent, not skipped. Train, mend, dig, grieve, or start a business. Whatever you were not doing continues not being done, elsewhere, by nobody.

Cost: the other thing you could have done.

    IV — The Ledger

Get your name in the book.

The free mechanics module the day it lands, and the date of the first episode. That is the entire list of things we will email you.

    Two emails, ever. Then silence.
